"Emancipate Yourself From Mental Slavery" said Bob

Back in the days, and still happening in certain parts of the world, each family cultivated and grew whatever produce their plot of land permitted and exchanged the surplus for other goods that they needed.
Back in the days, and still today in some places, people ran a small business to meet their basic needs.
All the while, large enterprises were being formed around the elite’s collective desire to have more. Some of these yearnings were growing at a much faster rate than the current available resources were able to support.
As these cravings culminated, the idea of promoting a mindset that would endorse, once and for all, the use of people as highly productive resources took shape.
The, thus far, timid forced labor industry prevalent prior to the 15th century, found a fresh new breath and a brand new avenue to thrive: Transatlantic human trafficking! This was the innovation they needed to support their growing ambitions.
Slavery was then able to expeditiously build a colossal economy, which is still bearing its tax-free fruits almost 250 years later.
The enslaved people’s cumulative revolt ended up reversing the system that allowed the grand scheme to flourish unrestrained.
Many people fought for human rights. Many people fought so the People could regain control of their lives.
The People, and allies alike, stood firm against a system that took away humans’ personal power.
All corporations alike, furtively cleaned up their acts and staged benevolent guidelines to advertise a “fair” exchange of services, looking to disassociate from this thing called Slavery.
Nonetheless, corporations still benefiting from years of successful trade, looked quite attractive to many people who saw an opportunity to mingle with more wealth than they had fraternized with before.
Families rushed their kids to school throughout their entire childhood to accumulate skills meant to be at the service of others.
Nowadays, as we habitually walk through the front doors of corporate buildings, while some find authentic satisfaction and purpose in their professional engagements, many others live with a persistent discomfort, numbed by the perceived security and stability their position promises.
As many walk back and forth each day, shame keeps them from voicing out loud that their daily activities bear a vague resemblance to slavery.
Why is it so, when those same people understand that it is entirely illegal for any form of servitude to exist unpunished, in civilized countries? Why is it so when corporations, whether they wanted to or not, cannot keep them in physical bondage?
Yet people live in this prison, feeling like they have no other choice but to be there.
“ The biggest form of slavery is that of the mind.” Bob Marley
We are significantly influenced by the people in our lives and our internal dialog is filled with the voices of those from our childhood, our parents or spouse, our friends, families, communities and culture.
Isn't it every human being’s duty, whether they have witnessed their rights being taken away or have seen their brothers and sisters go through such experience, to take full control over their lives? Aren’t we all meant to be the CEOs of our own lives?
If so, isn't it then essential that we learn the job, hire the right people, fire the ones who produce the undesired outcomes and devise a strategy to support our personal scheme?
Robert Kiyosaki, one of the most successful entrepreneurs of this century, has reiterated the fact that most successful corporations and people today need a clearly defined vision and get set on a mission to accomplish this vision.
While you might have never clearly defined a vision for your life, or redefined your personal vision in a while,
While you might not currently be set on any particular mission that is your own,
While you might still think you have plenty of time to do so,
While you might not think it is important at all …
At least once a year, every reputable and serious organization spends time and resources to identify your purpose in their institution and sets you on a clearly defined and measurable mission.
They understand the importance of keeping us all in line in order for us all to move in the right direction, towards their north star.
While you are still figuring yourself out, someone else is figuring it out for you.
If you don’t use your mind, someone else will.
Some of us get into relationships covertly hoping to get all of our needs met by that person. Our happiness depends on them.
Since it is extremely difficult to silence the cries of our souls, we inevitably become unhappy and cry out loud when our enlisted CEO does not perform at the level of our misdirected expectations.
We give them the power and duties associated to creating happiness in our lives and blame them for their poor performance.
After all, Cinderella never had a real life until she was saved by the Prince. Sleeping Beauty went straight to the point and slept her way through life until she found someone to bring her back to theirs.
These stories do not only affect women, although they were initially the primary targets.
This idea of being “saved” and “rescued” from our own lives has made it unattractive, undesirable and down right repulsive to take ownership of our core needs and desires.
We have collectively accepted that it was okay to not be in charge of our lives.
When I was pregnant with my son, and feeling a bit lost for having this huge responsibility all of a sudden, my brother reminded me of something that changed my mindset forever.
He said: “There are “needs” and there are “wants”. A first born’s needs are very limited and you must understand the difference.”
He said: “There are “needs” and there are “wants”. A first born’s needs are very limited and you must understand the difference.”
Who is in charge of your needs?
Back in the days, and still today in parts of the world, people operate in the bartering system to meet their core needs and exercise their personal responsibilities. Each child was taught the fundamentals of running this business as well.
Today, people are going back to that system. People have the strong desire to regain control in meeting their core needs.
As a result, these “innovative” business solutions came to life. Uber/Lyft, AirBnB, etc… and the world is still in awe by their tremendous success…
Nonetheless, these operate similarly to the bartering systems that existed long ago, and still today in parts of the world.
People are going back to learning how to meet their minimum needs with their own resources. They are no longer getting seduced by the large giants’ promise of success, happiness and freedom.
“You want to be in the driver’s seat of your own life, if not, life will drive you” Oprah
Before I let you go, here is my advice to you:
* Do not quit your job! Do not make your boss your enemy! Instead, figure out what your personal vision is and determine the path to get there. Then look to see if your vision aligns with your current position. Lastly, dare to have those conversations in a clear and productive way; Corporations today are not the big bad wolf looking to take you alive ….unless you let them…
* Do not leave your spouse! Do not make enemies of your friends! Instead, understand where you might have the Cinderella syndrome and look where you might have unjustly put your expectations onto them. Dare to have those conversations with your loved ones in a constructive way. Uncover your life’s vision and determine the role you need to play in your own happiness. Dare to restructure some of your relationships in light of your newly uncovered vision.
You mustn’t throw the baby away with the bath water. You must learn to separate the wheat from the chaff.
Not everyone needs to quit their job and start their own business.
Nonetheless everyone needs to know what their personal vision is. They deserve to dare to have the conversation that will allow them to align their vision with their current daily professional activities.
Not everyone needs to run their own business.
Yet, everyone needs to learn how to identify and leverage their personal assets, tangible or intangible, to support their core personal needs.
Not everyone needs to separate from their spouse, family or friends.
Still, everyone needs to understand their needs and be able to communicate those effectively and dare to reconfigure their relationships in light of this.

2) Live your life on purpose. A life of meaning is a life lived on purpose. Find your life’s purpose, find your life’s meaning. Become clear on why you are here and what you must do next.
3) Live in peace, dare to be happy. Your soul will never be at peace until you give it what it needs. Happiness is reached the moment you embark on your path to success. Keep walking.
